This program is fully compatible with the UML 1.4 standard, supporting other formats such as OCL, PNG, SVG, GIF, PS, PGML and EPS. Its interface is mainly divided into a total of four sections: the drawing area, a complete list of things to do, the available details and a file explorer.

One of the few shortcomings that can be attributed to ArgoUML is the undo function. In addition, although it is not as used, it is worth noting the impossibility of opening UML 2-based documents. Despite this, it is one of the best choices to manage everything that refers to this format.
